Set up a new property quickly

Your second guide should take a fraction of the time your first did, because most of the work is already done.

What you already have

• Places — your recommendations, with their host notes, ready to show in the new guide
• Media — every image you have uploaded
• A content library — point the new guide at an existing library, or duplicate one, to reuse its structure instead of starting from nothing. See Content libraries explained

A sensible order

1. Create the guide with the property name, address and web address
2. Choose or duplicate a content library and check each shared item is true of this property
3. Add the property-specific details: access, Wi-Fi, parking, bins, appliances
4. Choose which recommendations to show, adjusting notes where distances differ
5. Add a cover image of this property
6. Set check-in and check-out times
7. Preview on a phone, then publish

Where the time actually goes

Almost all of it is step three. The property-specific details are the ones nobody else can write for you, and the ones that matter most.

Budget your effort accordingly — a perfect colour scheme on a guide with the wrong bin day helps nobody.

Adjust the recommendations

A restaurant that is a five-minute walk from one property may be twenty from another. If your host notes mention distances, review them for the new property rather than accepting them as they are.

Before you share it

Run through testing your guide once. On a second or third property it is tempting to skip, and that is exactly when a copied detail slips through.
