Change your guide web address
Change the address guests use to open your guide, and understand the limits that apply when you do.
Updated
Your guide's web address is the part after welcomeflo.com. You choose it when creating the guide and can change it later.
The rules for an address
- Between 2 and 40 characters
- Lowercase letters and numbers only, with no spaces, dashes or full stops
- Not already taken by another guide
- Not a name reserved by WelcomeFlo, such as
pricingorlogin
The tick beside the field tells you whether the address you want is available before you save.
How often you can change it
Once every 30 days per guide.
The limit exists because changing an address affects everything already printed or shared. It is not a restriction you will notice unless something has gone wrong, and it is worth taking a moment over the address when you first create a guide.
What happens to the old address
The old address redirects to the new one for 90 days. Anyone using an old link or a printed QR code lands on your guide as normal during that period.
A guide can have up to three old addresses redirecting at once.
After 90 days the redirect stops. The old address stays reserved to your account until 180 days have passed, so nobody else can take it in the meantime.
What to do after changing it
Treat the 90 days as a deadline, not a grace period:
- Download and print the new QR code
- Replace printed cards, signs and magnets in the property
- Update the link in your booking templates and saved messages
- Update it anywhere else you have shared it
Once the redirect ends, anything still pointing at the old address stops working.
