Delete a guide
Move a guide to Trash, restore it if you change your mind, and understand why deactivating is usually the better option.

Deleting a guide moves it to Trash, where it stays for 30 days before it is permanently removed.
Consider deactivating instead
For most reasons hosts want to remove a guide — the property is between seasons, you are rebuilding it, you need to free a slot under your plan limit — deactivating does the job without losing anything.
A deactivated guide is offline for guests but keeps all its content, and can be brought back at the same web address at any time.
Move a guide to Trash when you are fairly sure you will not need it — you can still change your mind for 30 days.
What happens
From the guide's settings, choose Move to Trash. The guide stops working for guests immediately and disappears from your main guides list, but nothing is deleted yet.
Restoring a guide
Open Trash from your guides list to see everything you have moved there, along with the date it will be permanently deleted. Select Restore to bring a guide back — it returns as inactive, so you decide when to publish it again rather than it going live automatically.
Deleting permanently
From Trash, Delete permanently removes a guide immediately: its sections, settings and images, and its web address. Your media library and places are account-wide, so photographs and recommendations you used elsewhere are not affected.
This cannot be undone — there is no restoring from a permanent delete. Before you do this:
- Copy out anything you would struggle to rewrite — instructions, host notes, appliance details
- Remove or replace printed QR codes and cards in the property
- Take the link out of your booking templates and saved messages
- Tell anyone who relies on it, such as a cleaner or co-host
The web address
A guide's web address stays reserved while it is in Trash — restoring it gets the address back too. Only a permanent delete releases it for anyone to take.
After 30 days
A guide left in Trash for 30 days is automatically deleted permanently, the same as choosing Delete permanently yourself. Restore it before then if you want to keep it.
