Preview your guide before you publish

Check your guide the way a guest will see it, and run through a short list before you share the link with anyone.

Updated

New guides start inactive, so you can build in private and check everything before a guest ever sees it.

Preview as a guest

Open the guide preview from the dashboard. This shows the guide exactly as a guest would see it, including navigation and the home screen.

Preview on a phone if you can. Most guests read guides on a phone, often one-handed and in a hurry, and problems that are invisible on a laptop are obvious on a small screen.

A short checklist

Before publishing, check that:

  • The property name matches what guests see on their booking
  • The cover image is of the right property
  • Arrival information is near the top, not buried
  • The Wi-Fi network name and password are correct — test them
  • Check-in and check-out times are right
  • Every section has real content, not placeholder text left from the starter content
  • Nothing sensitive has crept in, such as a permanent door code

Search your own guide

Use the search tab and look for the five things guests ask you about most. If a search returns nothing useful, that is a gap worth filling before you publish rather than after.

Publishing

When you are satisfied, activate the guide. From that moment anyone with the link can open it.

Publishing does not notify your guests. Sharing the guide is a separate step, and you can take as long as you like between the two.
