Get paid for Extras
Connect Stripe to take card payments for Extras directly into your own account, and understand the different ways an offer can be paid for.
Updated
Card payments for Extras go straight into your own Stripe account — WelcomeFlo never holds guest payments on your behalf.
Connecting Stripe
Before you can take card payments, connect a Stripe account from your Extras settings. Stripe will ask for the usual business details it needs to verify any account; until that is complete, WelcomeFlo shows you exactly what is still outstanding, and a link back to finish it.
You can still offer Extras that guests pay for directly with you, without connecting Stripe at all — see below.
The ways an offer gets paid for
You choose how each offer is paid for, independently of its price:
- Paid by card immediately — a guest's card is charged as soon as they request it, no approval step
- Paid by card once you approve — the guest's card is authorised when they request it and only charged once you accept; if you decline, nothing is charged
- Arranged directly with you — no card is taken through WelcomeFlo at all; you and the guest settle payment yourselves
- Priced on request — once you send a quote, the guest can typically pay it by card or arrange it with you directly, depending on how you have set the offer up
A free Extra can still go through an approval step, so you keep control over availability without any payment involved.
Refunds
If you cancel a request that has already been charged, you issue the refund from the order — the same way you would in Stripe directly. Guest-initiated cancellations follow whatever cancellation terms you set for that offer.
Vendor settlement (Business)
If you use outside vendors — a cleaner, a transfer driver, a local experience provider — Business includes tools for tracking what is owed to each vendor from your Extras revenue, so you are not reconciling it by hand.
