Add and edit a subcategory
Group related information inside a category so guests can find one thing without reading everything.
Updated
A subcategory sits inside a category and groups related sections. It is the level guests land on when they tap a category card.
Adding one
Open a category and add a subcategory. Give it a name that describes the thing itself — "Wi-Fi", "Dishwasher", "Parking".
What makes a good subcategory
One topic, answerable in a screen or two. If a guest has to scroll past three unrelated things to reach what they want, the subcategory is doing too much.
Examples that work well:
- Inside Arrival: Directions, Parking, Getting In
- Inside Kitchen: Coffee machine, Dishwasher, Bins and recycling
- Inside The Property: Wi-Fi, Heating, Television
When not to use one
If a category will only ever hold a single subcategory, the two are really the same thing. Merge them — an extra tap for no benefit is worse than a slightly longer page.
Reordering
Drag subcategories into the order guests need. Within Arrival, directions come before getting in, because that is the order the guest experiences them.
Editing and deleting
Renaming is instant and does not affect the sections inside. Deleting removes those sections too, so move anything you want to keep first.
