Add and edit a category

Create the top-level topics guests see on the Stay tab, rename them and decide how many your property needs.

Updated

A category is a top-level topic. Guests see categories as cards on the Stay tab, and tap one to go deeper.

Adding a category

Open the guide's content and add a category. You give it a name and an icon, and it appears as a card immediately.

Names should be short and obvious. "Arrival" beats "Everything you need to know when you get here". Guests scan these cards, they do not read them.

How many to have

Most properties need between six and ten. Fewer than five usually means categories are too broad to be useful; more than a dozen means guests have to hunt.

Common ones that work:

  • Arrival
  • The Property
  • Kitchen
  • Bathroom
  • Getting Around
  • House Rules
  • Before You Leave
  • Emergency

Renaming

Rename a category at any time. Guests see the change immediately, and nothing inside it is affected.

Ordering

Categories appear in the order you set. Drag them so the ones needed on arrival come first — nobody needs "Before You Leave" at the top on check-in day.

Deleting

Deleting a category removes the subcategories and sections inside it. If you only want it temporarily out of the way, hiding it in a specific guide is safer than deleting.
