My guide link is not working

Work through the common reasons a guest cannot open your guide, from an inactive guide to an expired old address.

Updated

If a guest reports that your link does not work, these are the causes in the order worth checking.

1. Is the guide active?

An inactive guide shows a not-found page to everyone except you. This is the most common cause by some distance, particularly for a guide that was recently created.

Open the guide's settings and confirm it is active.

2. Are you testing while signed in?

As the owner, you can preview an inactive guide, so it may look fine to you and be unavailable to everyone else.

Test in a private browsing window, or on a phone that is not signed in to your account. That reproduces what a guest sees.

3. Has the web address changed recently?

Changing the address leaves the old one redirecting for 90 days. After that it stops working.

If you changed the address more than 90 days ago, any printed QR code or shared link using the old address will now fail. Download the current QR code and replace the printed materials.

Links break when messaging apps wrap them across two lines, or when a trailing character is copied. Ask the guest to send you exactly what they tapped.

The address should look like welcomeflo.com/yourguide, with nothing after it.

5. Is the guest's connection working?

A guide needs an internet connection to open. A guest who has just arrived and is not yet on your Wi-Fi may have no signal.

This is one reason to send the guide before check-in and to include the Wi-Fi details in your arrival message as well as the guide.
