Add a local recommendation
Add restaurants, cafés and attractions to your guide so guests can find directions, opening details and your advice.
Updated
Recommendations are one of the most-used parts of a guide, because they are the part guests cannot get anywhere else.

Adding a place
Open Places in the dashboard and search for the business by name. Selecting it brings across the details that keep themselves current, including the address, map location and directions.
If you would rather have suggestions to start from, Flo Places can search nearby places for you to review, available on Pro and Business.
You then choose which of your guides show it, and which category it belongs in — cafés, restaurants, attractions, transport and so on.
Adding your own note
This is the part that matters. A listing tells a guest a restaurant exists; your note tells them whether to go.
Useful notes are specific:
- "Best coffee within walking distance. Ask for the outside table."
- "Book ahead at weekends — it is small and fills by seven."
- "Ten minutes on foot along the seafront, longer with a pushchair."
Avoid repeating what the listing already says. Nobody needs to be told a bakery sells bread.
How many to add
Between eight and fifteen places is usually plenty. Guests are looking for a shortlist they can trust, not a directory.
If you have twenty restaurants, the recommendation stops being a recommendation.
Keeping them current
Places close and change hands. It is worth reviewing your list once or twice a year, and removing anywhere you would no longer send a guest.
